Brief Description
What does 2buy2 want from our Finance Analyst? To operate and improve effective accounting processes covering income and expenditure, bank reconciliations, journals, monthly management information and KPI reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, VAT return workings, P11D records (if necessary), tracking expenses, short term cash flow forecasting and project summaries. To understand the cost drivers within the business and provide analysis to the management team to help them make decisions. To carry out any other tasks required by the Finance Manager. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Financial Accounting - Maintain, accurately and completely, 2buy2’s books of accounts. Oversee purchase requests, record and monitor purchase invoices received against orders. Set up bank payments for authorisation.
    Enter all daily, monthly and annual nominal ledger transactions accurately into our Sage 200 accounting software. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving differences
    Track director and employee expenses; determine the claim is in order, supported by relevant receipts and identify the correct amounts of VAT.
    Preparation of VAT return workings, P11D workings and any other HMRC information for submission before the legally required date.
  • Management Accounting - Produce regular and timely management information and KPI reporting to support decision making by the senior management team. Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, producing regular reports to management and chasing late/missing payments.
    Monitor spending in relation to specific targets or projects the company may be involved in.
  • Cash Management - Perform regular bank/credit card reconciliations. Update short-term cash-flow forecast information.
  • Finance processes and procedures - Assist the finance director in developing and implementing policies and procedures in core financial process areas.
    Keep finance documents, files and records in an organised and understandable manner, ensuring that they are titled and filed appropriately and in accordance with company standards.
  • Business Partnering – Deal with monthly rebate statements provided by suppliers and produce monthly/bi-monthly/quarterly invoices and statements from them.
    Produce sales invoices to send out to customers in a timely manner in accordance with contract, liaising as necessary with other departments to do this.
    Provide commission information as required to 3rd party clients to enable them to send out invoices to suppliers.
    Handle any queries relating to monthly rebate statements, sales invoices, purchase invoices or any other customer/supplier queries that are finance related.
  • Any other work that may be reasonably requested by the Finance Manager from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Part qualified accountant or AAT Level 4 or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of relevant HMRC requirements
  • Good skills when working with Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent at managing processes with experience of process improvement
  • Excellent organisational and procedural skills
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication
  • Excellent attention to detail with an ability to spot numerical errors
  • Sage (or equivalent) accounting software experience
  • Ability to work within time restraints and a history of achieving targets
  • Good project management skills
  • Willingness to learn and undertake relevant training
  • Ability to work within a high pressure and hands-on environment
  • Ability to communicate externally and internally in a professional and respectful manner
  • Ability to work with and support other 2buy2 teams
