Jonathan Morgan - Procurement Director

Jonathan is an experienced procurement and supply chain professional, with a proven track record of delivering value across multiple commodities and industries. He leads and manages the Schools’ Buying Hub North West Procurement Team on procurement operations, strategy, contract management and compliance issues. His responsibilities include liaising with the DfE Schools Commercial Team and Category Management Teams to provide strategic guidance and ensure best value for schools.


Nathan Swinney - Head of Category

Nathan is an experienced procurement professional, working with schools for the past 15 years, providing advice on complex and collaborative procurements to help schools achieve the best value for their spend. As the Head of Category based in the North West, he manages a team of Category Specialists who help schools access best deals. 


Fiona Summerscales - Category Manager

Fiona is an experienced procurement manager who focuses on delivering compliant procurement services, obtaining savings and demonstrating value for money. As a Category Manager based in the North West, she provides professional strategic support on complex procurement specialising in facilities management. She also manages a team of Category Specialists that deliver compliant tender support to schools, to help them achieve value for money.


Alison Bailey - Senior Procurement Specialist

Alison has over 10 years of experience in procurement, from procuring for large Housing Associations, Major Utility and Central Government to assisting the delivery of London 2012. As a Senior Procurement Specialist for the Hub, she leads a team of Procurement Specialists who help schools make savings, improve efficiency and maintain compliance. Alison engages closely with school business professionals across the North West to ensure they achieve their procurement objectives, as well as with suppliers to develop opportunities to promote social value.


David Thomas - Category Specialist

David has over 10 years' of experience in the public sector and has been part of the Schools' Buying Hub North West team for 2 years. As a Category Specialist, he works on identifying the best energy deals and frameworks. David also helps schools buy together on energy to benefit from economies of scale.

 


Lindsey Bates - Procurement Specialist

Cheshire & Merseyside

Lindsey has significant experience in procurement, having held several positions in a variety of sectors, such as food manufacturing. As a Procurement Specialist for the Schools’ Buying Hub North West, she visits individual schools and also cluster events where she provides procurement advice and guidance. Part of her role with the Hub is to work with school business professionals face to face and with the Category Specialists at the Head Office to help ensure schools achieve the best value for money across all areas of non-staff spend. Lindsey also works closely with a large network of schools across Cheshire to help identify areas where schools can aggregate their spend in order to help reduce cost.


Mia Delaney - Procurement Specialist

Manchester

Mia has worked previously as a Bid Reviewer specialising in SMEs submissions onto public sector frameworks for people, infrastructure and technology. She has also worked in a variety of roles in the NHS, Scottish Power and United Utilities. Mia is the main point of contact for schools in the Greater Manchester area wishing to engage with the hub. This involves engaging with schools and MATS, identifying savings opportunities and offering advice and guidance where needed.


Toshif Vally – Procurement Specialist

LANCASHIRE

Toshif is passionate about procurement and has over 5 years’ experience in procuring goods, services and works for one of the largest Housing Association. He is also the branch secretary for the CIPS North Lancashire Branch.  As a Procurement Specialist for the Schools' Buying Hub North West, he works closely with the schools in the Lancashire area to help them achieve value for money and potential savings. He also provides them with procurement expertise for all their buying needs.


Victoria Lawson - Schools Procurement and Business Specialist

Cumbria

With 17 years' experience in education, Victoria works closely with school business professionals and headteachers in Cumbria and the surrounding region. Her role involves building relationships with schools, making them aware of the Schools’ Buying Hub, offering support and advice on buying activity and compliancy, and examining procurement projects to identify opportunities where money can be saved and efficiencies made.

Lis Winborn - Procurement Support Officer

Lis has experience in working for a wide range of manufacturing companies within their buying departments. As a Procurement Support Officer for the Schools’ Buying Hub North West, Lis provides administration support to the Procurement Team and deals with supplier enquiries, contract management, tendering process support as well as general administrative duties. Lis also works on the Procurement Help Desk and provides support to the Procurement Team.


Ben Roach - Procurement Coordinator

Ben has 5 years of experience in Customer Services and he is passionate about helping customers obtain best value on their contracts. As a Procurement Coordinator for the Schools’ Buying Hub North West, he supports schools with advice on their current contracts, including recommending best deals. He also helps schools identify savings through the initial 30-minute free call or by answering enquiries on our LiveChat. Ben also supports our team of category specialists with organising aggregations and evaluating tender responses.


Jonathan Williams – Procurement Coordinator

Jonathan has been delivering excellent customer service for the past 5 years, and has experience in training, development and operations management spanning over 13 years. As a Procurement Coordinator at the Schools’ Buying Hub North West, he supports the Procurement Specialists and Category Specialists in managing the relationship with schools. Jonathan also responds to LiveChat enquiries and carries out the initial free call that identifies areas where the Hub could support schools.
